  Governing Body Meeting Minutes September 17, 2020  HS Media Center/Zoom 5:30-6:30 p.m. Members Present : Kathy Commeret, Tim Olson, Mandy Rodriquez, Sarah Weber, Gina McCambridge, Sarah Anderson, Lisa Czypera, Amanda Hite, Judy Humphreys, & Deb Stuart. Meeting called to order at 5:39 p.m. Approved minutes from February & today’s agenda. President’s report:    LOA Signed a letter of agreement re: changes in working conditions that differ from the contract (all over Kent county issues related to pandemic are contentious; districts & unions in conflict, so we are fortunate to have an agreeable working relationship with CPPS administration).  From the union’s perspective the huge win from the LOA-- district conceded that employees who become ill with COVID and cannot work remotely will NOT be docked from their sick bank.  LOA will be posted on our newsletter - refer all questions to Kathy.   LETTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN  Comstock Park Public Schools (CPPS)  AND  Comstock Park Educational Employees  Association (CPESP)  COVID 19 PREPAREDNESS AND  RESPONSE PLAN  In response to Michigan Executive Order 142 requiring all school districts to prepare three Preparedness Response Plans (PRP) informed by the Michigan Return to Learn Roadmap in conjunction with any unionized employee groups, the following agreement is set forth to amend the conditions of employment for bargaining unit members of the Comstock Park Educational Support Professional Employees (CPESP)  We agree that the physical health and well-being of students, families, and employees should be the first priority of the Comstock Park Public Schools Preparedness Response plans, and to that end:  Conditions for In-Person Learning:  A.  Good Morning, Time for an update! I hope all of you are surviving this odd return to school.  I know personally, I can't remember when I have been this tired or stressed.  Hopefully, this weekend you can pause and take time away from school to take care of yourself and your families!   There are some issues/events coming up that we would like you to be aware of.  First of all, MESSA (Insurance) open enrollment is in November, please access your MESSA account through the portal to review your plan.  We are adding a new plan and I will post that overview here.  Renee Szurna who is our MESSA rep will be doing informational meetings on that new plan and answering questions on October 6 and 7 at 4:30.  When those dates get closer I will send out those links. You can also ask me questions, I would be happy to help! I intend to send this information on insurance to  personal and cppschools emails since insurance information and meetings are for everyone even if they are not a member. On

Contract Ratification

 Contract Ratification for both EA and ESP will be Tuesday August 25 3-4:30 in the High School Media Center.  Members in good standing may vote.  Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.  Remember Q and A for the contract is today at 2:00 via zoom, see the earlier post for the link.
