Bargaining Meeting Wednesday 2/24/2021
Good Morning! Wednesday we will have a bargaining meeting at 1:00 pm in the High School Media Center. Anyone who is a member in good standing is welcome to attend. We will discuss what our topics of bargaining should be and get your input. If you know nothing about bargaining please don't be intimidated, all are welcome. We especially encourage younger members to get involved so you can learn this process for the future! We will discuss our bargaining team, minimum bargaining standards, and how to get input from our members. We will also set future dates to meet. If you feel uncomfortable coming in person, reach out to me and I can provide a zoom link. Thanks !
Financial Update!
Good afternoon! I know it's been a while so I thought I would share some things that have been on the minds of our leadership. First of all, I hope you are all navigating through this stressful year and finding time to take care of yourself and your families. At our executive board meeting last Wednesday we discussed the financial health of our district (which is very good) and how to change the mindset/dialogue of the past. I have been here for over 20 years and we have had some very tough times financially speaking. This has changed and I wanted to start the conversation about shifting our mindset and conversations. We have for so long been "scared" to spend money and we now need to start thinking about how best to "invest" in our district. I know we have heard some administrators say, but we have to save that money because we have declining enrollment. This mindset is short sited and we will never grow as a district thinking that ...

Governing Body Meeting Minutes September 17, 2020 HS Media Center/Zoom 5:30-6:30 p.m. Members Present : Kathy Commeret, Tim Olson, Mandy Rodriquez, Sarah Weber, Gina McCambridge, Sarah Anderson, Lisa Czypera, Amanda Hite, Judy Humphreys, & Deb Stuart. Meeting called to order at 5:39 p.m. Approved minutes from February & today’s agenda. President’s report: LOA Signed a letter of agreement re: changes in working conditions that differ from the contract (all over Kent county issues related to pandemic are contentious; districts & unions in conflict, so we are fortunate to have an agreeable working relationship with CPPS administration). From the union’s perspective the huge win from the LOA-- district conceded that employees who become ill with COVID and cannot work remotely will NOT be docked from their sick bank. Good Morning, Time for an update! I hope all of you are surviving this odd return to school. I know personally, I can't remember when I have been this tired or stressed. Hopefully, this weekend you can pause and take time away from school to take care of yourself and your families! There are some issues/events coming up that we would like you to be aware of. First of all, MESSA (Insurance) open enrollment is in November, please access your MESSA account through the portal to review your plan. We are adding a new plan and I will post that overview here. Renee Szurna who is our MESSA rep will be doing informational meetings on that new plan and answering questions on October 6 and 7 at 4:30. When those dates get closer I will send out those links.
